Statement by Philippe Le Houérou, IFC CEO, upon arrival in Jakarta, Indonesia

Jakarta, Indonesia, July 30, 2018 — “It was with sadness that I learned of the earthquake that struck Lombok yesterday. My sincere condolences go to the families and friends of the people who lost their lives. Our thoughts are also with those who’ve been injured, and whose homes and businesses have been damaged. Natural disasters take a terrible toll on people and their communities. On behalf of all IFC staff, we hope the people of Lombok can recover swiftly from this tragedy.”
