LONDON, 3 May 2018:
The Financial Times and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, have announced the shortlists for the 2018 FT/IFC Transformational Business Awards, a global program that highlights ground-breaking, long-term private sector solutions to major development issues.
The 2018 FT/IFC Transformational Business Awards mark 13 years of collaboration between the FT and IFC on awarding initiatives that have had a substantial impact on the way financial and non-financial institutions approach sustainable investment.
The crucial role of the private sector in global efforts to address climate change, achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and eliminate poverty, is a key focus, with special attention given to products and services that harness disruptive technologies and business solutions to increase impact and efficiency.
A total of 189 entries were received from 278 organisations involving projects in more than 126 countries.

The dinner will conclude the FT/IFC Transformational Business Conference, a major half-day gathering of private sector decision-makers and thought leaders designed to explore and debate the issues generated by the Awards.
